Carrots with honey and sesame, a delicious side dish that pairs well with simple dishes and cooked in a pan or roasted.
Carrots are vegetables that don’t often make it to my shopping list, but these different and spiced preparations are very much to my liking, and I love experimenting with different recipes.
Carrots are a low-calorie vegetable used for savory recipes but also sweet ones and make a perfect snack for those following a light and healthy diet.
What can we pair carrots with? What spices and herbs can we add to our preparations?
This vegetable pairs with parsley, curry, sage and even thyme, but if you want to try an exotic flavor, add ginger and coconut milk!
How can we cook carrots?
Great in a pan, maybe slowly cooked with the addition of milk, or simply with a sauté of shallots, a touch of butter, and let cook slowly!
But they’re also great boiled in salted water or roasted and gratinated, and maybe even added to other vegetables as a filling for a savory pie made with a pastry shell or brisée.
I suggest other carrot recipes like:
