An easy recipe with quick cooking but …with a marinade that I left overnight in the fridge for chicken skewers with honey and soy, tender and tasty!
I confess that I went a bit by feel, meaning I added both the soy sauce and the honey without an exact measurement in grams, but … these are ingredients added by intuition, and I invite you to do the same!
I chose to grill the chicken skewers flavored by the mixed marinade because it’s quick, and in summer it’s better not to spend too much time at the stove, but we can certainly cook this chicken even in the oven!
In summer, chicken meat is perfect for making quick slices in the pan or on the grill, and if there’s any left, we can add it to a mixed salad with arugula, iceberg, cherry tomatoes, and much more for a fresh and nutritious one-dish meal.
White chicken meat is not too caloric but very digestible and also favored by those who follow a light and tasty diet.

Tools

- Grills
- Skewers
Steps
1) Cut into strips the chicken breast and start inserting them into the wooden skewers.
2) As I finish them, I place them in a container where they can comfortably fit in terms of length and try NOT to overlap too many, so the marinade can flavor them and make them tender and juicy.
3) Once the skewers are assembled, in a bowl, I put the HONEY, the salt, the pepper, and the soy sauce, mixing the liquid well and then pouring it over the chicken skewers.
4) I close the container, preferably in an airtight way, and place it in the fridge for at least 3 hours: I marinated the skewer meat overnight!
5) When ready to serve I put the grill on high heat, and once it’s red-hot, I cook the chicken skewers, which I have slightly dried from the marinade because I feared that the sugary part of the sauce would caramelize too much, making the meat bitter and not very digestible.
6) I serve the chicken skewers with honey and soy with a portion of mixed greens to have a light and tasty dish!
Enjoy your meal!

1) The marinated meat makes the recipe flavorful, and I leave you this article with tips and recipes to have the perfect marinade.
2) If you don’t have soy and honey, even a simple vinaigrette of extra virgin olive oil and lemon juice will flavor the meat, and the addition of aromatic herbs will make this white meat main dish very tasty.
