The chocolate cake recipe is closely related to the tenerina cake, meaning the ingredients are the same, the preparation follows the same sequence, and it differs only in the amounts, which vary greatly among the different elements.
Unfortunately, it is very, very good and also caloric, so let’s settle for a slice and forget about serving it with a nice dollop of whipped cream… or, and I think it’s fair, let’s cheerfully ignore that, enjoy, and stop!

Ingredients CHOCOLATE CAKE RECIPE

- 7.1 oz dark chocolate

FOR THE PREPARATION OF THE CHOCOLATE CAKE RECIPE
Separate egg whites from yolks and beat the yolks with sugar until you have a light and whipped mixture.
In a saucepan, melt the butter with the chopped dark chocolate over very low heat and then let it cool or at least warm up.
Mix the melted dark chocolate into the egg yolk and sugar mixture then add the sifted flour and vanilla flavor.
Finally, whip the egg whites to stiff peaks and gradually fold this mixture into the rest of the chocolate cake batter.
Prepare the pan with non-stick spray before pouring the mixture and distribute it evenly in the cake tin. Mine is heart-shaped, but that’s just a coincidence; I recommend a 7.87 in diameter pan.
Bake at 338°F in a static oven, allowing to bake for about 35/40 minutes depending on your home oven; the cake should be soft with a nice crust on top, as you can see in the pictures!
It’s so, so good… Enjoy your meal! Annalisa
P.S. A little of whipped egg whites didn’t mix well… but it’s a tiny issue given the minimal amount, it can happen!
