Chocolate Heaven Cake

The Chocolate Heaven Cake recipe was prepared for a small family event and I must say it was a big hit and it’s cute too, isn’t it?

I have already cooked the classic version on the blog, also filled with milk cream, and both versions are very soft and excellent even without any added cream.

It’s a cake that we can fill with custard, a layer of jam, and then another layer of cream, a delicious mascarpone cream or just simple fresh whipped cream lightly sweetened with powdered sugar.

The Heaven Cake is the classic soft cake with a delicate taste that is excellent even without filling and just a generous sprinkle of powdered sugar.

The original Heaven Cake recipe or paradise cake is prepared with butter and the classic ingredients of pantry cakes and also with a portion of potato starch, a starch extracted from the potato that makes cakes and cookies soft and crumbly and can even partially replace flour as often happens!

The paradise cake is a traditional dessert from Pavia and cuisine from Mantua

and dates back to the 19th-century pastry chef from Pavia named Enrico Vigoni. Its name seems to come from the admiring exclamation of a noblewoman who, upon tasting it, was so delighted by the taste that she exclaimed, “this cake is heaven!”

The Heaven Cake is perfect at any time of the day for breakfast and snack and is also excellent filled with silky and delicious creams.

  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cup potato starch
  • 1/8 cup cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3/8 cup cup sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/3 cup cup vegetable oil
  • 1/3 cup cup milk

TO PREPARE THE CHOCOLATE HEAVEN CAKE RECIPE

  • I beat the whole eggs with sugar for at least 15 minutes!

    I gradually add the liquids such as oil and milk at a very low speed or with a flexible spatula known as marisa.

  • I add the sifted powders which include unsweetened cocoa, flour, potato starch, and baking powder.

    I line the springform pan with high edges with wet and squeezed-out parchment paper or oiled and floured, or with the specialized release agent, then pour in the fluid and homogeneous mixture.

  • I just need to bake at 340/355°F in static mode the Chocolate Heaven Cake and let it bake for about 25/30 minutes or depending on the home oven.

  • Once baked, I let it cool and remove from the mold placing the chocolate paradise cake on a wire rack if possible to cool evenly.

    I proceed to fill it if desired and enjoy your meal!
