And after many little recipes in the shape of a tree, here is a Christmas puff pastry star for an appetizer that is simple to make and can be varied in many ways!
Personally, my Christmas star with ready-made puff pastry was a fridge-emptying recipe because I used cooked ham that Andrea didn’t want to eat and a piece of emmental left from some pork rolls cooked in a pan and pecorino that was the star of a gricia pasta dish last night.
If you prefer, you can use herb cream cheese that we find ready-made or we can prepare by adding a nice mince of basil and parsley and mixing well.
If we want a puff pastry star with fish, we can also, after spreading the dough with cheese like Philadelphia, place slices of smoked salmon which at this time of year we also find in sweets because it’s so popular, as it is tasty and we find packages also at a good price and on super offer!
P.S. THE PHOTO OF THE BAKED CHRISTMAS PUFF PASTRY STAR REALLY LO… I’m sorry!

FOR THE PREPARATION OF THE CHRISTMAS PUFF PASTRY STAR APPETIZER RECIPE
It’s quite simple.
Unroll the package of ready-made puff pastry on a surface.
Try to cover the largest amount of puff pastry with slices of cooked ham.
Add the chosen cheese, and I had a bit of grated julienne emmental then add the grated cheese and some random sprigs of arugula.
Roll tightly to avoid losing grated cheese (which will be sprinkled over the already formed star in the mold) and cut slices about a finger thick (a little over a centimeter perhaps).
Place these filled puff pastry rolls starting from the center of the cardboard star mold and then proceeding towards the outer edges.
Once the entire surface is covered, beat the egg placed in a glass and brush it over the puff pastry star of CHRISTMAS and then bake at 375°F (190°C) for about 30 minutes or depending on the characteristics of our home oven.
When slightly warm, serve at the table with a glass of bubbles and …
Enjoy your meal! Annalisa
