I had a small portion of cod soaked and desalted in the freezer for a while and I kept postponing its use because I wanted a fantastic recipe to make, but then I thought of preparing the recipe for a mousse, a codfish mousse that is whipped delicately and deliciously, which I enjoyed with croutons as an appetizer.
The preparation of the codfish mousse I slightly modified after reading it in this blog and it fully satisfied me!
If like me, you use a piece of frozen cod let it thaw in the refrigerator for as long as necessary…. but let’s head into the kitchen for this particular and soft dish of codfish mousse!
The whipped codfish mousse is a typical Mediterranean appetizer, much appreciated for its delicacy and creaminess. Perfect for spreading on toasted bread croutons but also to serve in single-portion glasses!

Preparation CODFISH WHIPPED MOUSSE RECIPE
Remove the skin and bones if present from the codfish piece.
Place it in a small pan with the garlic and milk and let it cook on low heat until all the liquid is absorbed (about 20 minutes).
Let the codfish cool completely.
Pour the mixture into the immersion blender glass.
Now pour the vegetable oil in a thin stream, starting to blend until you obtain a codfish mousse that is soft and delicately tasty.
The amount of vegetable oil indicated is approximate, so be flexible: taste and adjust accordingly, please!
Serve it with golden toasted croutons for a very tasty appetizer based on codfish mousse! Enjoy the recipe of the codfish mousse!

Tips and notes
Sometimes there is confusion between codfish and stockfish because they are often mistaken for one another, but in this article you will find all the information so you won’t make mistakes again…. They are both products derived from cod, but thanks to different and ancient methods of processing and preservation, they eventually become two distinct foods with a unique taste and texture!
