I received a mega box of Ferrero Rocher as a gift and decided to make these cupcakes for a very rich and chocolaty treat!
The ferrero rocher cupcakes are perfect for a sweet break and you can also store them in the freezer to fill and enjoy at the right moment.
I read the recipe here and immediately thought of making it… a success for my guests, truly a delicious mini cake but let’s go to the kitchen to make the ferrero rocher cupcakes!

FERRERO ROCHER CUPCAKES

Ingredients for FERRERO ROCHER CUPCAKES
- 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 1/3 cup flour
- 2/3 cup milk
- 2/3 cup butter
- 3 medium eggs (190 g)
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 12 Ferrero Rocher
- 7 oz dark chocolate
- 3/4 cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsps hazelnut crumbs

Preparation of ROCHER CUPCAKES
Combine the unsweetened cocoa, sugar, milk, and melted butter in a bowl. Add the sifted flour. Mix well and add the chopped chocolate.
Lastly, add the baking powder and baking soda, mixing the batter well.
Place the liners in the cupcake molds and pour part of the batter without reaching the edge.
Bake at 356°F for about 20/25 minutes or according to your oven’s characteristics.
Take out and let the ferrero rocher cupcakes cool.
For the ganache, heat the heavy cream until boiling, then turn off the heat and add the chopped dark chocolate.
Mix well and let it cool completely, then place it in the refrigerator.
After a couple of hours, beat the ganache with an electric mixer until soft.
Using a pastry bag, decorate each cupcake with the ganache.
Place a Ferrero Rocher and a bit of hazelnut crumbs on top of each cupcake.

Tips and Notes
Cupcakes and muffins… two very similar creations with small but significant differences
Cupcakes are smaller, always frosted, only sweet, served in the afternoon with tea or coffee, and are made using the “creaming method,” which involves creaming butter and sugar before adding other ingredients. They are, in essence, small cakes, not just treats!
Muffins are larger, have a dome on top, lack specific frostings, can be made with “savory” ingredients, are enjoyed at breakfast, and are made by combining dry ingredients with liquids.
