Ingredients GOOD BREAKFAST CAKE RECIPE

  • 3 eggs (medium)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil (I use corn)
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup plain natural yogurt
  • 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet baking powder
  • 5 tablespoons Nutella® (or other chocolate cream as desired)
  • to taste sugar grains

FOR THE PREPARATION OF THE GOOD BREAKFAST CAKE RECIPE

  • I spray the release agent on all sides and bottom of the 9-inch diameter cake pan and start the recipe..

    I put the eggs in a bowl and after adding the sugar, I start to whip everything for at least 7/8 minutes to obtain a light and frothy mass.

  • I add the liquids, that is vegetable oil and yogurt, and also the vanilla extract or lemon zest if you prefer… Personally, considering the addition of Nutella before baking the wake-up cake, I used the vanilla extract made by myself (recipe → https://blog.giallozafferano.it/asilannablu/estratto-di-vaniglia/)

  • Finally, I add the sifted all-purpose flour with the baking powder, mixing with the soft spatula and upward movements so as not to deflate the fluffiness of the good breakfast cake.

  • I pour the batter into the greased cake pan, level it, and add 5 nice heaping tablespoons of chocolate hazelnut cream, for me, Nutella.

    I sprinkle the good breakfast ring cake with sugar grains, trying to distribute it discreetly and evenly.

    I then bake in static mode at 356°F until fully cooked, about 35/40 minutes, depending on the characteristics of our home oven.

  • Once cooking is finished, and as always the toothpick test will validate it, I close the oven and let it cool completely, then remove from the pan and place the good morning cake on a wire rack.

    It’s not too sweet, it has the texture of a ring cake, and it’s excellent for breakfast and a snack!
