Heart-Shaped Puff Pastry Mille-Feuille
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Cost: Economical
  • Rest time: 5 Minutes
  • Preparation time: 5 Minutes
  • Portions: 1Person
  • Cooking methods: Oven
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Seasonality: Valentine's Day

Ingredients

  • 1 package shortcrust pastry
  • 2/3 cup whipping cream, 35% fat
  • 2.5 oz mascarpone
  • 1.4 oz powdered sugar (plus a bit more before serving)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (or organic lemon zest if desired)
  • 1 strawberry

Tools

  • Cookie Cutters
  • Piping Bag
  • Plain Nozzles

Steps

  • Cut 6 hearts from the ready shortcrust pastry sheet.

Place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, then bake at 340°F for about 12-15 minutes, but as always, be careful as the pastry browns quickly!

  • Let them cool, and in the meantime prepare the white filling cream by mixing the fresh whipping cream with mascarpone and powdered sugar using electric beaters.

  • Once the cold shortcrust hearts are ready, fill a piping bag with a small plain nozzle with cream and create small cream balls covering one biscuit, then stack the second, refill, and close the single-serving dessert for Valentine’s Day with the third shortcrust heart.

Dust with powdered sugar, place a small dollop of filling in the center, and arrange half a strawberry with the green stem left on top.

Here is a quick, cute, and delicious treat to celebrate Valentine’s Day on February 14th!

Of course, the biscuits can be prepared in advance and assembled just before our romantic meeting!

Best wishes and… enjoy your meal!
