Homemade Kinder Delice Cake

The homemade Kinder Delice cake is a delicious dessert with a chocolate base and a rich, creamy filling with cream, mascarpone, and powdered sugar.

To ensure you enjoy a strong dessert, the homemade Kinder Delice cake is covered with a layer of melted dark chocolate and then placed in the refrigerator to blend the flavors and allow the chocolate coating to thicken, creating a delightful crust (or a thicker crust depending on the amount of cocoa) across the entire surface of the KINDER DELICE CAKE!

In short, it is rich and caloric, so I made a small square cake 7 inches that still serves up to 9 people, and I think I won’t use chocolate for a cake until September, preferring therefore summer fruit desserts, which are a wealth in the summer!

  • 1/3 cup potato starch
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tbsps unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2/3 cup sugar

  • Pans
  • Electric Whisks
  • Bowls
  • Spatulas
  • Knives

Steps

  • 1) Start by preparing the chocolate cake, then put the eggs with the sugar in the bowl of the stand mixer or any other bowl, and beat them for at least 10 minutes to obtain a light and very fluffy mass.

    2) Sift together cocoa, flour, starch, and baking powder, and gradually fold them into the egg and sugar mixture with a flexible spatula or hand whisk.

    3) “Grease” the pan as mentioned above and pour in the mixture, then bake at 350°F for about 20 minutes or according to your oven’s characteristics.

    4) While the chocolate cake is baking, start the filling. After placing the cream in a clean bowl, whip it with an electric mixer adding, when semi-whipped, the mascarpone in small quantities and gradually, flavoring with a dash of vanilla extract and powdered sugar.

    5) The cake removed from the oven and cooled is ready to be filled, so…

    6) I cut it in half and fill it with the wonderful white cream leveling it out evenly.

    7) Prepare the chocolate ganache by placing the cream over moderate heat in a saucepan and bringing the liquid to a boil.

    8) Remove from heat and add the finely chopped chocolate, stirring it all with a flexible spatula.

    9) Let the chocolate ganache cool.

    10) Place the filled chocolate cake on a rack if possible and cover it entirely with the ganache, coating also the edges and the outer sides.

    11) The homemade Kinder Delice cake must be stored in the refrigerator and then enjoyed with joy!

    IT’S VERY, VERY GOOD!

    Enjoy your meal!

Annalisa says…

1) The ganache I made with dark chocolate because it’s my favorite, but of course, you can also make it with milk chocolate, or with chocolate with chopped hazelnuts inside….

2) The ganache is usually prepared with equal weights of chocolate and cream, and a small, very small percentage of butter is also added to make it glossy… This time I didn’t add it!

3) If you have time and feel confident, pipe a little melted chocolate into a pastry bag and create decorations, flowers, letters, writings on top of the Kinder Delice cake: it will be very scenic and even more beautiful!

4) I chose not to soak the cake before filling it because the cake is low in thickness, and the filling is abundant. Also, upon tasting, I found it good and soft as I prepared it, but… as always, if you want, soak it with sugar syrup or milk.
