As soon as I read this preserve recipe, I immediately wanted to try it because homemade raisins are a truly enticing idea to make in our kitchens.
I love raisins in desserts in general and in apple strudel, and making them homemade was a challenge for me!
The preparation is very simple, the oven does everything, but it needs to stay on for about 3 hours to dry and dehydrate the fresh white grapes, which are first quickly passed in a boiling bath with the purifying addition of baking soda.
If you don’t use all the amount made with this recipe in a dessert, cookies or other, store the homemade raisins in an airtight jar placed in the refrigerator for a week.

- 9 oz white grape berries
- 4 1/4 cups water
- 1 oz baking soda

Preparation HOMEMADE RAISINS RECIPE
Carefully wash the berries detached from the bunch under running water and pat them dry with paper towels.
In a saucepan, pour 4 1/4 cups of water and the baking soda, and when boiling, add the grape berries for 20 seconds in boiling water.
Drain them and immediately rinse under cold running water.
Line the oven rack with parchment paper, poking holes in it with a wooden skewer like those for kebabs ^_^!!
Arrange the “blanched” grape berries in a single layer, spaced apart, and leave them in the oven at 285°F for about 3 hours until they dry perfectly.
Clearly, every oven is different, so keep an eye on them, but that seems unnecessary to say, right?
Allow the homemade raisins to cool in the oven for a couple of hours. Place the grapes now at room temperature in an airtight jar, and if you don’t consume them right away, store them in the refrigerator for up to a week. Have a great day!
