Indulgent Strawberry Cup with Streusel

in ,

The indulgent strawberry cup with streusel is a spoon dessert that’s creamy and crunchy at the same time, perfect for enjoying strawberries in a simple but very indulgent way.
I love strawberries and right now I eat them in large quantities, often without complicated preparations because to me they’re delicious even with just a little sugar and lemon!

Today, helped by a pack of heavy cream nearing its use-by date, I prepared this indulgent strawberry cup with streusel which isn’t too sweet but very creamy and crunchy thanks to the large streusel crumbs — a delicious mixture made with rice flour, almond flour, powdered sugar and butter.

What is streusel? Streusel is a crumbly, coarse-textured mixture that’s irresistible and I recommend saving the recipe among your favorites because it’s useful for many treats!!!

Streusel can be used as a tasty base for a cheesecake, added to creams and fruit to give the famous crunchy note that balances preparations, and it’s also great to snack on with a fruit juice!

The streusel recipe is very easy and it keeps in the refrigerator for 7–9 days still fragrant and crunchy…

STREUSEL RECIPE*
INGREDIENTS
1/3 cup rice flour,
3 1/2 tablespoons butter,
1/2 cup almond flour,
1/3 cup powdered sugar.
PREPARATION
In a bowl, mix the dry ingredients evenly, then add the butter and use your hands to incorporate it little by little into the flours and sugar until you have crumbs of varying sizes.
Place the crumbs on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 338°F until golden as shown in the photo.
After 5 minutes I stirred the mixture and returned it to the oven for another 5–6 minutes, but adjust the time according to your appliance.
A delightful scent of cinnamon will rise (and I say this even though I’m not that fond of this spice…) and after turning off the oven let everything cool very well before using it in your preparations.
This amount is enough to decorate or make a layer for at least ten small cups, but consider that streusel keeps in tins for several days so you can make it generously.

Tips and Notes

Strawberries are a seasonal fruit with many properties: they are antioxidant, have a significant amount of vitamin C, help prevent arthritis and arthrosis, stimulate fat metabolism, regulate blood glucose levels, and are very tasty and versatile — perfect for many recipes from starters to desserts!

Strawberries are also well suited to home cultivation because they require minimal care and little space while still producing a generous amount of fruit. If you don’t feel confident with gardening, buy small potted plants from nurseries, preferably from organic cultivations, and have fun growing them…
