Ingredients

  • 1.6 cups chestnut flour
  • 1/4 cup bitter cocoa powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk (also plant-based)
  • 1 packet baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • to taste chocolate chips (optional)

This is how I prepare it, and it’s a success!

  • First, whisk the eggs with the brown sugar.

    Then add flour, cocoa powder, instant baking powder, vegetable oil, and milk.

  • Add the dark chocolate chips if you prefer it less light, then pour the batter into a 20 cm (8 inch) round pan (I use 18 cm, about 7 inches).

  • Smooth it well with a spatula and bake in a static oven at 350°F for about 30/35 minutes, but as always, check according to your home oven’s features.

  • When baking is complete (toothpick test), let it cool and dust with powdered sugar.
