Meatballs with Potatoes and Peas in a Pan

A simple recipe for a very homey and equally tasty dish today with meatballs with potatoes and peas in a pan!

AND HERE OPENS A WORLD… because the meatballs, the queens of this preparation, can be made in billions of ways with beef, pork, chicken, or mixed meat, but also with the addition of ham, finely grated cheese, Grana or breadcrumbs, and aromatic herbs like parsley… and I’ll stop here because there’s really something for everyone, right?

I chose a mixed ground meat and added frozen peas and diced potatoes that are a must at my house!

MEATBALLS WITH POTATOES AND PEAS IN A PAN

Ingredients

  • 17.5 oz ground meat (mixed for me)
  • 2.5 oz breadcrumbs
  • 2.1 oz Grana Padano grated
  • 3 eggs
  • 7 oz frozen peas
  • 16 oz potatoes (diced)
  • to taste extra virgin olive oil
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper
  • to taste parsley (in the end, I didn't add it)
  • to taste broth cube (vegetable broth cube, for me Knorr)
  • 3 tbsps mixed for soffritto (frozen for me)

  • Saucepans
  • Bowls
  • Peelers
  • Spatulas

Steps

  • In a bowl I put the ground meat of the type I prefer and then add the eggs, breadcrumbs, grated Grana and season with salt and pepper.

    Mix well all the ingredients and then make the meatballs and set them aside covered with cling film or a clean cloth.

    Put a saucepan on the flame and add 3/4 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil.

    Once it’s hot, add the mixed soffritto and let it brown for a few minutes.

    Then quickly sear the meatballs on all sides, then remove them from the heat and let them rest on a plate.

    Add the peas and about a glass of water to the pot, cooking the vegetables for 4/5 minutes.

    Put also the diced potatoes and the meatballs and pour about a ladle of water with a hint of broth cube to flavor the dish of meatballs with potatoes and peas in a pan.

    Bring to a finish and serve hot at the table!

    A simple tasty dish that is surely passed down in all our homes by mothers and grandmothers!
