A simple recipe for a very homely and equally tasty dish today with meatballs with potatoes and peas in a skillet!
AND HERE A WORLD OPENS… because meatballs, the queens of this preparation, can be made in billions of ways with beef, pork, chicken or mixed meat but also with the addition of ham, finely chopped cheese, Grana Padano or breadcrumbs and with aromatic herbs such as parsley …and I’ll stop here because there really is something for every taste, right?
I chose a mixed ground meat and added frozen peas and diced potatoes which are a must in my home!

MEATBALLS WITH POTATOES AND PEAS IN A SKILLET

Ingredients
- 1.1 lb ground meat (mixed, for me)
- 2/3 cup breadcrumbs
- 2/3 cup Grana Padano, grated
- 3 eggs
- 1 1/4 cup frozen peas
- 3 cup potatoes (diced)
- to taste extra virgin olive oil
- to taste salt
- to taste pepper
- to taste parsley (I didn’t add it in the end)
- to taste bouillon cube (vegetable bouillon cube (I use Knorr))
- 3 tbsp mixed soffritto (frozen for me)

Steps
In a bowl place the ground meat of your choice, then add the eggs, the breadcrumbs, the grated cheese and season with salt and pepper.
Mix well to combine all the ingredients, then form meatballs and set them aside covered with plastic wrap or a clean cloth.
Put a pot on the heat and add 3-4 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil.
When hot, add the mixed soffritto and brown for a few minutes.
Then quickly brown the meatballs on all sides, then remove them from the heat and let them rest on a plate.
Add the peas to the pan and about 1 cup of water and cook the vegetables for 4-5 minutes.
Also put in the pot the diced potatoes and the meatballs and pour in about one ladleful of water (about 1/2 cup) with a small piece of bouillon cube to flavor the dish of meatballs with potatoes and peas in a skillet.
Bring to doneness and serve hot at the table!
A simple, tasty dish that surely has been passed down in all our homes by mothers and grandmothers!
