With the recipe for the mini cake with 2 apples in the air fryer, I inaugurate a new and, I believe, substantial section of the blog because this type of cooking is fast, leaves almost nothing to clean, and the foods cook perfectly!
Some months, maybe years ago, I bought an air fryer which I looked at with some annoyance during this period because it was collecting dust. I was a bit skeptical and ready to dismiss it with a lot of personal nonsense.
Today I decided to try it after leaving it on for a good half hour following some advice from my sisters and some ladies who follow my page on FB. I started experimenting and made a mini cake with raspberries, but I cooked it at a very high temperature (338°F), so it browned too much on the top and was still undercooked inside, alas!
THE AIR FRYER is nothing more than a relative of the convection oven because it is the air heated to high temperatures that enables the cooking of various foods. Certainly, with this type of cooking, we won’t need to use large amounts of fats to enjoy dishes that will be crispy and tasty just like if we had fried them.
It is essential to set the right temperature appropriate to cook the dishes in the air fryer, arrange the foods well in the basket without overfilling it, and frequently check the dishes by shaking the basket from time to time to check the cooking and consequent browning.
WHAT TO COOK IN THE AIR FRYER
Here we can really range from classic frozen products like fries, mini pizzas, chicken wings, to adding vegetables from zucchini to peppers, to eggplants, to carrots!
Even meat can be cooked in an air fryer to obtain a delicious crust, and so we can prepare cutlets, skewers, chicken, and much more.
With the air fryer, in no time we can enjoy dishes with little oil or other added fats, always crispy and flavorful!

Ingredients for MINI CAKE WITH 2 APPLES IN AIR FRYER
- 2 apples (for me Golden)
- 2 eggs
- 1.5 tbsps vegetable oil (for me corn)
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3.5 tbsps milk
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 lemon (only juice)

FOR THE PREPARATION OF MINI CAKE WITH 2 APPLES IN AIR FRYER
As I said above, it’s the first sweet recipe made with the air fryer, and I must say I’m quite satisfied, but there’s always room for improvement, isn’t there???
I start washing, coring the apples, peeling them carefully, and slicing them into thin slices. After putting them in a bowl, I sprinkled them with lemon juice so that they don’t “turn brown” and soften a little.
In a bowl, I put the vegetable oil and blend it with the granulated sugar, slightly beating everything together.
Then I add the eggs and the sifted flour with the instant baking powder, alternating it with the milk, obtaining a soft and homogeneous batter.
I could also flavor the mini cake with 2 apples cooked with the air fryer with vanilla extract or with lemon zest to our liking, BUT I WAS TOO CURIOUS to discover the result of cooking in the air fryer and I didn’t do it!
I just sprayed oil on the special paper cake pan, 8 inches in diameter, and then poured the batter, covering it with the apple slices slightly blotted from the lemon juice.
I baked it in the air fryer for about 25 minutes, checking the cooking status multiple times, something I urge you to do but surely you are more experienced than me!
When cooking was finished, I added a few pinches of powdered sugar (I am not at home and don’t have a suitable sieve for dusting the mini cake with 2 apples) and waited for it to cool to take a big bite!
Really delicious this mini cake prepared with 2 Golden Apples and little else, the first recipe experiment cooked with the air fryer!
