With the recipe for the mini cake with 2 apples in an air fryer I inaugurate a new and, I believe, substantial section of the blog because, in fact, this type of cooking is quick there’s almost nothing to clean, or nearly so, and the foods cook perfectly!
Some months, perhaps years ago, I purchased the air fryer that during this period I looked at almost annoyed because it was gathering dust, I was a bit suspicious, and off I went with a lot of personal nonsense.
Today I decided to try it after leaving it running for a good half an hour following some advice from my sisters and some ladies who follow my FB page and I started experimenting and making a small cake with raspberries that I cooked at a very high temperature (340°F) and so it got too brown on the top and was still undercooked inside, alas!
THE AIR FRYER is nothing more than a relative of the convection oven as it is the air heated to high temperatures that allows the cooking of various foods and certainly with this type of cooking we will not have to use large quantities of fats to enjoy dishes that will be crispy and appetizing just as if we had fried them.
It’s essential to set a proper temperature adequate for cooking dishes in an air fryer, place the foods well in the basket without overfilling it, and frequently check the foods by shaking the basket from time to time to check the cooking and consequent browning.
WHAT TO COOK IN THE AIR FRYER
Here we can really range from classic frozen products like fries, mini pizzas, chicken wings to adding vegetables from zucchini to peppers to eggplants to carrots!
Even meat can be cooked in an air fryer thus obtaining a delightful crust, and so we can prepare cutlets, skewers, chicken, and much more.
With the air fryer we can quickly enjoy dishes with little oil or other added fat, always crispy and tasty!

There are really many air fryers offered to us daily, and usually, the differences are those of the basket design and the temperatures they can reach during cooking.

Ingredients RECIPE MINI CAKE WITH 2 APPLES IN AIR FRYER
- 2 apples (for me Golden)
- 2 eggs
- 3 tbsp vegetable oil (for me corn oil)
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3 tbsp milk
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 lemon (only juice)

FOR THE PREPARATION OF THE MINI CAKE RECIPE WITH 2 APPLES IN AN AIR FRYER
As I mentioned above, this is the first sweet recipe made with the air fryer and I must say I’m quite satisfied, but there is always room for improvement, right???
I begin by washing, coring the apples, peeling them carefully, and slicing them into thin slices. After placing them in a bowl, I sprinkled them with lemon juice so they don’t “brown” and soften a bit.
In a bowl, I put the vegetable oil and whisk it with the granulated sugar whipping everything a bit.
Then I add the eggs and the flour sifted with instant baking powder alternating it with the milk, obtaining a soft and homogeneous batter.
I could also flavor the mini cake with 2 apples cooked in the air fryer with vanilla extract or with lemon zest according to our preference, BUT I WAS TOO CURIOUS to find out the result of the air fryer cooking and I didn’t do it!
I just sprayed a little oil on the special paper baking pan, 8 inches in diameter, and then poured the mixture over it, covering it with the apple slices patted a bit with the lemon juice.
I baked in the air fryer allowing it to cook for about 25 minutes, but checking the state of cooking several times, which I invite you to do, but surely you are more experienced than I am!
At the end of cooking, I added a few pinches of powdered sugar (I’m not at home and I don’t have a suitable sieve to dust the mini cake with 2 apples) and waited for it to cool to have a good bite!
Really delicious this mini cake made with 2 Golden Apples and little else, the first experiment of a recipe cooked with the air fryer!
