I love the taste of citrus fruits sometimes I just feel the need to eat an orange, to smell that broken peel with my hands, and that intense juice… after seeing in this blog an orange cake, I thought since I also had some lemons, to make an orange and lemon cake and here’s the result.

Ingredients ORANGE AND LEMON CAKE RECIPE
- 2 Eggs
- 6.35 oz granulated sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 orange (zest and juice)
- 1 lemon (zest and juice)
- 7 tbsp Milk
- 8 tbsp vegetable oil (for me corn)
- 1 lemon
- 1 orange
- 3.17 oz granulated sugar
- 1.35 oz water
- as needed water
- as needed powdered sugar
- 2 drops lemon juice (2/3 drops)

Preparation Orange and Lemon Cake Recipe
Wash both the lemon and the orange thoroughly.
Grate their zest and squeeze the juices, setting them aside.
With the electric beaters, whip the eggs with the sugar into a soft and fluffy foam, then add the freshly grated citrus zests.
Now add the lemon and orange juices, alternating with the flour sifted with baking powder.
Pour the milk and vegetable oil into the batter, blending well.
Grease and flour the pan and pour in the mixture
Bake in a preheated oven at 340°F for about 45/50 minutes or according to your oven’s characteristics.
Once the orange and lemon cake is baked and as always rely on the toothpick test, let it cool and start preparing the caramelized citrus fruits.
Slice the lemon and orange. In a large pan, add water and sugar and let it dissolve over low heat.
Add the citrus slices and on low heat let the fruits soften gradually.
Drain the citrus slices on a rack and then decorate the orange and lemon cake.
If like me, you want to add the glaze, put 2/3 tablespoons of powdered sugar in a cup or a glass, add the drops of lemon and a little water.
Mix vigorously and adjust the density of the white glaze with which you will finish decorating the cake.
Soft and very fragrant, enjoy with orange and lemon cake!
