PENNE SKEWERS WITH SAUCE

Penne skewers with sauce are a tasty idea to serve, maybe at a buffet, stringy and appetizing pasta that we can vary in countless ways!

It’s also an interesting recipe that we can deconstruct in the sense that I can boil the pasta well in advance and only 20 minutes before meal time start making the macaroni, penne, or sedanini skewers with tomato sauce!

In each skewer, I placed 12 boiled penne, which I think is the right number for a taste and to not get too messy, but clearly, a small plate will be needed to accompany the tasting!!!!!!

It’s an idea, and I won’t give you exact doses because it’s too simple, and you can do as you please!

I’m leaving you other quick and simple first course recipes but remember that on the blog, there are tons of first course recipes! HERE are other genuine and homemade recipes like:

Seasoned penne skewers
  • Difficulty: Very easy
  • Cost: Cheap
  • Rest time: 15 Minutes
  • Preparation time: 10 Minutes
  • Portions: as you like
  • Cooking methods: Stove
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Seasonality: All seasons

Ingredients PENNE SKEWERS WITH SAUCE

  • to taste penne rigate
  • to taste tomato sauce (for me Mutti datterini)
  • to taste mozzarella (julienned)
  • to taste dried oregano
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper

Tools

#ADV

  • Casseroles
  • Skewers
  • Brushes
  • Non-stick pans

Steps

  • 1) Folks… there’s not much to say, right?

    2) So first I boil the pasta in salted boiling water as soon as it reaches a boil.

    3) I drain the pasta 20 seconds before perfect cooking and rinse it under cold water for a few seconds, then placing it on a surface to cool perfectly.

    4) With skewers in hand, I thread the penne one by one, attempting to make a fairly straight line of pasta, clearly inserting the skewer through the center of the pasta!

    5) I place them on the baking tray and with a food brush (but a spoon and a little care will also work) coat the penne with ready-to-use tomato sauce, for me, already prepared.

    6) Now I add the julienned mozzarella, a pinch of dried oregano, and then I adjust with salt and pepper.

    7) We can also add some grated cheese, freshly torn basil, a pinch of chili pepper… in short, if you have any whims, add them too!

    8) Now I place the skewers under the oven grill for a few minutes, just enough for the cheese to melt with the penne and for the flavors to enhance each other!

    9) Ten seconds to avoid burning your lips and we are ready to taste the penne skewers with well-seasoned and stringy tomato sauce!
    Enjoy your meal!

If we want a more seasoned pasta, let’s crumble some sausage or salami paste over it and turn on the oven in static mode for 6/7 minutes, then switch to grill for the final 3/4 minutes! But always check that nothing gets too crispy eh eh!
