Pomegranate Grappa

I really love experimenting in the kitchen and making liqueurs and digestives that I give as gifts or occasionally enjoy myself after dinner, sinking into the couch while undoubtedly watching a cooking show or a gripping thriller! With the pomegranate, a delicious seasonal fruit, today I finished preparing the pomegranate grappa (and not pomegranate tree, eh eh) taken and modified in the procedure, from the book “Homemade Liqueurs and Grappa” by Molino Don Chisciotte, easy to make and perfect as a next Christmas gift and to offer to friends! The pomegranate is rich in vitamins, draining minerals, and especially antioxidant polyphenols and flavonoids that help keep you young!

Ingredients for POMEGRANATE GRAPPA RECIPE

  • 1 l white grappa
  • 1 Cinnamon sticks (piece)
  • 1 Pomegranate (large and well ripened)
  • 1 untreated lemon (zest)
  • 3 tablespoons Acacia honey

FOR THE PREPARATION OF THE POMEGRANATE GRAPPA RECIPE

1) To prepare the pomegranate grappa liqueur, the first thing is to extract all the arils, the little fruits, the red seeds of the pomegranate, so let’s proceed using suitable gloves not to stain our fingers red!

2) Pour the grappa into an airtight container or bottle and add the pomegranate arils, the acacia honey, stirring to mix everything well.

3) Add the cinnamon sticks and a few pieces of organic lemon zest taken with the peeler and let it infuse for 15 days in a place away from heat and light sources.

4) After the rest time, filter the pomegranate grappa and bottle the grappa with the fruit arils in a dark glass bottle.

5) Easy recipe, sure to succeed, ideal also for a small Christmas gift!
