Puff Pastry Snails with Salmon and Olives

Easy savory appetizer recipe ready in a few minutes that can REALLY be made while guests are entering the house because to make the puff pastry snails with salmon and OLIVES it really takes 5 minutes, and while friends make themselves comfortable in the living room, they can be baked, and after 7/8 minutes they’re ready for the aperitif!

They are simply crispy strips about 0.79 inches wide cut from a rectangular package of ready puff pastry with pieces of smoked salmon or a green olive inside, always wrapped in the ready puff pastry strip.

I then brushed the roll with a beaten egg and baked at 374/392°F for a few minutes, just enough time to brown the pastry!

They are therefore quick and easy appetizers perfect for setting up the savory buffet not only during the holiday season but at any time of the year.

The ready-made puff pastry strips can be filled with:
crumbled and blended tuna with creamy cheese, salt, and pepper, and chopped parsley;
boiled shrimp also blended with a tablespoon of mayonnaise;
ham blended with chives and a bit of Parmesan cheese;
– slices of roasted peppers and a tiny bit of sweet gorgonzola or robiola;

PUFF PASTRY SNAILS WITH SALMON AND OLIVES

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry (preferably rectangular)
  • 1 package smoked salmon
  • 5 green olives
  • 1 egg
  • to taste parsley (or chives)

Steps

  • I preheat the oven to 356/374°F and start making the pre-made pastry rolls.

    I unroll the pastry on a surface and cut the smoked salmon into pieces.

    With the crinkle cutter, I trace several strips about 0.79 inches wide vertically and sprinkle with chopped parsley.

    I lay the salmon on top and roll up to create these little snails that I place already spaced on the baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

    I also place a green olive at the beginning of a strip and wrap the dough around, then arrange them neatly on the baking sheet.
    I now bake in a preheated oven and brown these little puff pastry finger foods until fully cooked.

    A few minutes to cool and the quick and easy appetizers with pre-made puff pastry are ready.
