QUICK AND DELICIOUS PASTRIES

For a snack or breakfast, here are some quick and delicious pastries with puff pastry, jam, and slices of fresh or canned pineapple!

I had 2 packs of puff pastry ready-made in the fridge and thought of preparing some treats with little work in the kitchen, also thanks to a video I saw on YouTube from the Tasty site.

The flower pastries are simply rectangles of puff pastry where on one half I made a flower with a cookie cutter and then overlapped the parts, adding some strawberry jam.

For the sunflower pastries with pineapple, I made a small photo collage to make the way of making the treat more understandable, and in this little recipe, I also added some lemon curd which adds a magnificent tangy boost to the overall taste!!

Ingredients for QUICK AND DELICIOUS PASTRIES

  • 2 packs puff pastry
  • to taste strawberry jam (or another of your choice)
  • to taste pineapple slices (canned)
  • to taste powdered sugar
  • to taste lemon curd

FOR THE PREPARATION OF QUICK AND DELICIOUS PASTRIES

  • To prepare the sunflower-shaped pastries with pineapple, first unroll the package and make the largest circle with a cookie cutter.

Divide the central part into many small wedges, whose tips you will bring to the outside.

With a smaller cookie cutter, cover the central hole, creating a large flower.

In the center, place a small amount of lemon curd and on top of it a pineapple slice.

  • Here you have the quick and delicious sunflower-shaped pastries with pineapple ready to be baked at 375°F for about 20 minutes or according to your appliance’s specifications.

  • Unroll the puff pastry pack and cut rectangles of about 7 inches by 3 inches.

On one half, place some strawberry jam, and on the other half, make a flower shape or another shape you like with a small cookie cutter.

  • Overlap the parts, closing the puff pastry pouch and sealing everything well with the tines of a fork.

Bake these jam pastries for the same time and temperature as the sunflower pineapple pastries.

  • Once these little treats for breakfast and snacks are cooked and golden, allow them to cool, then sprinkle with powdered sugar.

Rather quick and suitable for the whole family, enjoy with the quick and delicious pastries!
