Quick and Tasty First Course today, the recipe of a rich and delicious dish… I recommend using short pasta shapes like MACARONI SEDANINI or penne because I believe the sauce is more suitable for these shapes.

Did you know there are about 200 different pasta shapes, and the most consumed among the long ones are spaghetti, while among the short ones, penne and RIGATONI are the favorites!

How do you recognize the best quality of pasta? If it becomes sticky, do not buy it again because the raw material is not of good quality, and the production technology is not advanced. After cooking, the pasta should remain the same size, and the flavor resulting from the perfect mix of taste, aromatic, and odorous characteristics must be of great quality and balance. Let’s cook this quick and tasty first course????

P.S. I had chopped the walnuts, but… I ate some before the photo, and they are missing… forgive me! Walnuts are good for the heart, so I had a good reason, and I hope you’ll forgive me ^^___________^^

Ingredients for QUICK AND TASTY FIRST COURSE

  • 11.3 oz pasta (I used sedanini)
  • 2.1 oz sweet pancetta (diced)
  • 2.1 oz cooked ham (diced)
  • 1 cup light cream
  • 1 1/2 glass dry white wine
  • 1 knob of butter
  • 4 walnut kernels
  • to taste Grana Padano (grated)

Preparation for QUICK AND TASTY FIRST COURSE

  • In a pan, melt the butter, then add the pancetta and cooked ham, both diced.

  • Brown over high heat, then add the white wine and let the alcohol evaporate.

  • Pour in the cream and turn off the heat. Meanwhile, boil the pasta in salted boiling water.

  • Drain it, keeping aside a ladle of the cooking water.

  • Pour the pasta into the pan, add water if needed, and toss it cheerfully, adjusting the salt.

  • Compose the individual plates, adding chopped walnut kernels and grated Grana Padano. Enjoy this quick and tasty first course!!!

Tips and Notes

Personally, I used two types of cold cuts just to exaggerate because I had them available in the fridge, but this quick and tasty first course will be delicious even using just one… Be very careful when salting the dish because the cold cuts make the sauce very flavorful…
