Quick Cheese Crescents

Here’s a super quick recipe to prepare a savory snack that complements sauces, cold cuts, and soft cheeses for an aperitif – quick cheese crescents!!!!!

Personally, I’ve enjoyed these little buns as a side, but if you wish, cut them in half and fill them with a slice of cheese, a piece of cooked ham, some shrimp, and cocktail sauce, an herbal omelette, some pieces of sun-dried tomato in oil….

These super quick puff pastries are simple, fast, and super versatile!

Ingredients for QUICK CHEESE CRESCENTS

  • 1 package puff pastry
  • 5 oz spreadable cheese
  • 1 oz Grana Padano cheese, grated
  • 1 egg yolk
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper

FOR THE PREPARATION OF THE QUICK CHEESE CRESCENTS RECIPE

  • I preheat the oven to 375°F static.

    I unroll the rectangular package, preferably placing it on a work surface or any flat…flat surface!

    In a bowl, I mix the spreadable cheese with the Grana (keeping a little aside to sprinkle on top of the mini crescents before putting the little buns in the oven).

  • I also add a little salt and pepper and mix this creamy mixture well.

    I cut the puff pastry in half lengthwise, creating triangles that I spread with this cream, excluding the outer edges.

    I then roll up the triangles starting from the widest part and tightening the dough well.

  • At this point, I beat the egg yolk with a little water and brush this emulsion on the crescents and sprinkle with the grated Grana I kept at the beginning of the recipe.

    I arrange the mini savory cheese crescents on the baking tray lined with parchment paper and bake for about 25 minutes or depending on the characteristics of the home oven.

    Once warm, they are ready to set up the buffet , adding creamy savory mousses, cubes of fresh cheese, seasoned olives, and whatever you like!
