Preparation of Quick Fairground Fritters

For this recipe, pour the sifted flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt into a bowl. At this point, make a well in the center and gradually add water while mixing.

Knead for 5/6 minutes, mixing everything well.

  • Finally, add the oil and continue kneading to obtain a smooth and homogeneous dough.

Sprinkle a little flour on the work surface and make small balls each weighing about 2.5 oz.

  • Cover them with a cloth and let them rest for a few minutes.

Take the first ball and try to press the center with your fingers, leaving the edge higher and thicker (I admit that mine didn’t always come out as flat as they should, but… I ate them anyway, haha).

  • In a pan, put peanut oil, as it has the right smoke point, and when it reaches temperature (338°F), start frying the quick fairground fritters without yeast. When they are nicely golden, drain them on suitable absorbent paper.

  • Sprinkle them immediately with granulated sugar and when just warm… yum yum!!!

Enjoy your quick fairground fritters without yeast!
