I love ricotta: just a pinch of salt, and it becomes a pleasant ingredient to pair with vegetables and/or salad for a complete meal! On the blog, there are many sweet and savory recipes I have prepared, and today with this new ricotta cake I made this rich and creamy dessert, very pleasant to enjoy.

The ricotta is also the base element of many regional recipes, a fantastic heritage of our nation, such as Maremma tortelli, Neapolitan pastiera, cassata, cannoli, and much more!
TIPS
The ricotta is not a cheese but a dairy product made without rennet but with the leftover whey from cheese production. It is a very versatile product, as already mentioned, and is used for all menu courses. It is an appreciated source of protein and minerals, including calcium.
Ricotta is a low-calorie product and easily digestible, suitable even for children’s nutrition!

Ingredients RICOTTA CAKE RECIPE
- 2 cups cups ricotta
- 1 cup cups Walnut halves
- 1/3 cup cups Flour
- 3/4 cup cups Sugar
- 3/4 cup cups Dark chocolate chips
- 1 egg

Preparation RICOTTA CAKE RECIPE
Beat the egg with the sugar.
Then add the fresh ricotta passed through a strainer, and when the mixture is well combined, add the sifted flour.
Now add the chopped WALNUTS and the chocolate chips.
When the mixture is smooth, pour it into a previously buttered and floured mold (about 8/9-inch diameter).
Bake the ricotta cake in a preheated oven at 340°F for about 45/50 minutes or depending on the characteristics of your oven. Simple and full of character, enjoy your ricotta cake!
