My son loves pear cakes very much and, in fact, there are already several on the blog. This time, however, I wanted to prepare something a bit different from the usual: a rustic pear and walnut cake with dark chocolate, richer and with a pronounced flavor.
The batter contains chunks of dark chocolate, walnuts and also an apple compote, which makes the cake particularly pleasant to bite into.
I decorated the surface with pear slices that become soft and fragrant during baking, while almond flour gives the cake a more rustic, homemade texture.
It’s a simple and wholesome cake, perfect for breakfast or an afternoon snack, ideal for those who love homemade desserts with a full and authentic taste.

On the blog, as mentioned above, you’ll find many pear cakes and I leave some ideas just below:
- Difficulty: Easy

Ingredients
Add butter and flour for the pan or line it with parchment paper or use a non-stick spray.
- 2 pears (or 3 if you prefer)
- 3 oz dark chocolate
- 1 cup almond flour
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup apple compote
- 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 3 1/2 tbsp milk (optional)
- 1/4 cup walnuts
Tools
9-inch pan (22 cm)
- Stampi
- Carta forno
- Coltelli
- Fruste elettriche
Steps
For the homemade pear and walnut cake, start by cutting the chocolate and the pears into large pieces.
Whisk the eggs with the sugar, then add the apple purée, the milk, the almond flour, the all-purpose flour, the baking powder and the chocolate.
Mix until you obtain a smooth batter, then add the diced pears.Pour the batter into the prepared pan, leveling it well, then garnish by arranging slices of the second pear and roughly chopped walnuts.
Bake at 356°F in a conventional oven for about 40 minutes, or depending on your oven.
Once baked, let cool for a few minutes, dust with powdered sugar and… ready to taste!
Enjoy! Annalisa
