Sausage crown is a non-recipe I’d say it’s a tasty option suitable for a savory buffet appetizer to accompany sauces like ketchup to dip the puff pastry rolls and sausage.
I preferred to make small crowns to place in the center of the table for the various guests.
I don’t particularly love sausages but occasionally and for some particular recipes like this, I use them, opting for chicken and turkey ones.
The sausages are typical Austrian products mainly made with minced beef and pork, and I believe this is the first recipe out of a total of over 2500 you’ll find on my blog!

QUICK AND TASTY MIXED APPETIZERS
MIXED APPETIZER PLATTER
SAUSAGE CROWN
- Difficulty: Very easy
- Cost: Very cheap
- Preparation time: 5 Minutes
- Portions: 2
- Cooking methods: Oven
- Cuisine: Italian
Ingredients RECIPE SAUSAGE CROWN
- 2 packages puff pastry (preferably rectangular)
- 2 packages small sausages (for me chicken and turkey)
- to taste ketchup
Tools RECIPE SMALL CROWN
- Cutting board
- Knife
- Baking pan
PREPARATION FOR THE SAUSAGE APPETIZER RECIPE
Unroll the packages of ready-made puff pastry on a surface.
Place the small sausages on the pastry, wrap them like a sausage, and cut the pastry to seal the sausage.
Cut each puff pastry-wrapped sausage into 3 pieces and continue this way, placing them next to each other to form a crown.
Place the salted crowns on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
Brush each sausage crown and bake at 375°F for about 20/25 minutes.
If you like, you can also sprinkle this appetizer with sesame seeds or poppy seeds before baking, according to your personal taste.
Once the preparation is golden and well cooked, turn off the oven and let it cool slightly.
I served it with ketchup but if you prefer, use barbecue sauce or mustard!
Bon appétit!
