Savory Cake with Tuna and Peppers

The savory cake with tuna and peppers was accompanied by a nice and rich mixed salad as our dinner the other day, and it’s a very simple and tasty recipe perfect for all seasons!

The dough is very easy, gently flavored with dry white wine and seed oil, and a pinch of chili that goes perfectly with it!

How can you vary the ingredients of the savory tuna cake stuffed with grilled peppers?

Instead of peppers, you can use sliced zucchini always grilled and flavor the mixture with pieces of seasoned sun-dried tomatoes, but also olives, maybe those stuffed for aperitifs, or capers.

Don’t like chili? You can use oregano if you put peppers or mint if you insert zucchini as filling, what do you think?

  • 6 fillets Grilled peppers, for me frozen
  • 1 1/2 cups All-purpose flour + as needed for the mold
  • 2 Eggs (medium)
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder for savory preparations
  • 2 tablespoons Dry white wine
  • 2 tablespoons Seed oil + 1 teaspoon for the pan
  • 1/2 cup Canned tuna in oil (drained)
  • 1/2 cup Mozzarella (shredded)
  • 1 pinch Chili powder
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper

Preparation RECIPE SAVORY CAKE WITH TUNA AND PEPPERS

  • • In a bowl, beat the eggs with a hand whisk and add the liquids, namely seed oil and dry white wine.

  • • In another bowl, sift the flour with instant baking powder for savory preparations.

    Add the powders to the liquids, mixing well and combining the two mixtures.

  • Add the crumbled tuna, a pinch of dried or fresh chili, and adjust with salt and pepper.

  • • Also add half of the shredded mozzarella and mix everything well.

  • • Grease and flour the loaf pan for sweet and savory cakes.

    Pour about half of the batter into the pan, then arrange the pepper strips obviously thawed at room temperature, covering the entire surface of the pan.

    Then add the remaining part, level it well, and finish with shredded mozzarella.

  • • All that remains is to bake in a static oven at 356°F for about 30/35 minutes or depending on the characteristics of your appliance.
