Smoked Salmon Dome with Avocado and Cream Cheese

This cute idea of the smoked salmon dome with avocado and cream cheese I saw on a social media and it seemed like an easy recipe without too much hassle that could look great on the table of a family event party.

Of course, I made and photographed it within an hour but if it stays longer in the fridge in the appropriate mold, the dome evens out better and looks neater, I believe!

We can copy the dome idea with so many other things… HERE IT IS FISH THEMED with salmon but we can use slices of cold cuts like cooked ham, raw ham, and even bresaola.

For the hidden filling, we can use our dome as a quick shell by putting sautéed and browned vegetables, always alternating with spreadable cheese and closing everything with a sandwich bread circle cut to size and just toasted under the oven grill.

Adding flavor to the salmon dome with avocado and spreadable cheese is a few pink peppercorns which are definitely delicious with fish.

I indicated 4 slices of salmon because sometimes in some promotional packages the slices are a little skimpy, but it’s clear that if the slices are already as large as the dome, you will need 2, one for each… I don’t think things like this need to be explained; it would be like calling the readers idiots, so I’m not writing certain stuff, sorry!!!!!!!!!!!!!

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 slices smoked salmon
  • 1/2 avocado
  • 1.75 oz spreadable cheese (herb-flavored)
  • 2 slices toast bread (from which we cut the circle to close the dome)
  • to taste dill (for decoration)
  • to taste pink pepper (for decoration)
  • to taste lemon (in wedges for decoration + juice)

TOOLS

5 cm dome mold

  • Molds

FOR THE PREPARATION OF THE SMOKED SALMON DOME WITH AVOCADO AND CREAM CHEESE RECIPE

  • some lemon juice to prevent it from browning and the smoked salmon slices.

  • I listed herb spreadable cheese as an ingredient, but if you didn’t find it, you can mix cream cheese like Philadelphia with finely chopped parsley and/or basil if you like, otherwise leave it pure as is!

  • I cut the bread circles with a glass and toast them quickly under the oven grill until they are crunchy and golden.

I start lining the bottom of the domes with salmon... here in the photo, it has a ridiculous color, but the lights played this prank on me, and I’m keeping them so obscene!

I add diced avocado then a spoonful of cream cheese, sealing the salmon dome as an appetizer with the toasted bread circle.

If the salmon slices hang over the circle, tuck them in like bed sheets instead of cutting them, at least that’s what I did!

Cover with food wrap and place in the refrigerator until serving time, with a sprig of dill and a few pink peppercorns or false pepper!

Cute, right, the smoked dome, avocado, and cheese!

    Enjoy your meal! Annalisa
