Smoked Salmon Dome with Avocado and Cream Cheese

This cute idea, the smoked salmon dome with avocado and cream cheese, I saw on social media and it seemed like an easy recipe without much fuss but that could look great on the table at a family event party.

Clearly, I made and photographed it within an hour but if it stays longer in the fridge in the proper mold, the dome evens out better and stays neater, I believe!

The idea of the dome can be copied grandly with much more…HERE IT IS FISH-THEMED with the salmon but we can use slices of cold cuts like cooked ham, raw ham, and even bresaola.

For the hidden filling, we can use our dome as a quick shell by putting some sautéed and roasted vegetables, always alternating with spreadable cheese, and closing everything with a circle of sandwich bread cut to size and just golden under the oven grill.

To add flavor to the salmon dome with avocado and spreadable cheese, a few grains of pink pepper are definitely exquisite with fish.

I indicated 4 slices of salmon because sometimes in some promotional packages the slices are a bit skimpy, but it’s clear that if the slices are already as large as the dome, 2 are needed, one for each … I don’t think I need to explain things like these, it would be like calling the readers idiots, so I don’t write such stuff, excuse me eh!!!!!!!!!!!!!

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 slices smoked salmon
  • 1/2 avocado
  • 1.76 oz cream cheese (with herbs)
  • 2 slices toast bread (from which we derive the circle to close the dome)
  • to taste dill (for decoration)
  • to taste pink pepper (for decoration)
  • to taste lemon (in wedges for decoration + juice)

TOOLS

5 cm (2 inches) dome mold

  • Molds

FOR THE PREPARATION OF THE SMOKED SALMON DOME WITH AVOCADO AND CREAM CHEESE

  • lemon juice to prevent discoloration and the smoked salmon slices.

  • I added herbed cream cheese as an ingredient, but if we haven’t found it, we can mix cream cheese like Philadelphia with finely chopped parsley and/or basil if we like, otherwise, we leave it pure white!

  • I cut the bread circles with a glass and toast them quickly in the oven under the grill until they are crispy and golden.

I start lining the bottom of the domes with the salmon.… here in the photo, it has a ridiculous color but the lights played tricks on me and I’ll keep them that way, horrible!

I add diced avocado then a spoonful of cream cheese, sealing the smoked salmon dome as an appetizer with the toasted bread circle.

If the salmon slices overhang the circle, tuck them like bed sheets, don’t cut them, at least that’s what I did!

Cover with cling film and place in the refrigerator until ready to serve on the table, with a sprig of dill and some grains of pink pepper or false pepper!

Cute, isn’t it, the smoked, avocado, and cheese dome!

    Enjoy your meal! Annalisa
