I love homemade liqueurs that can become delightful and enjoyable gifts for those who, like me, appreciate good cooking and good drinking. It’s also fun to find a unique and thoughtful way for the gift recipient, by packaging a colorful and special package. On the blog, there are many refreshing and digestif liqueurs to be served chilled at the end of a meal.
Today, a spiced orange liqueur from the beautiful book “Regali golosi” by Sigrid Verbert, a liqueur that I will also use to make syrups for soaking various cakes over time.
It’s easy and very fragrant, and as always, it requires a suitable resting time to better absorb the aromas and taste of the orange peels and spices it contains, but follow me as we prepare the spiced orange liqueur together!

Preparation for SPICED ORANGE LIQUEUR
Use the peeler to take the orange peel without the white part.
Place them in a large jar (I used a sterilized Bormioli jar for preserves) with the cinnamon sticks, the vanilla pod, and the seeds of the cardamom.
Add the vodka, seal well, and let it rest for a week, making sure to shake the jar at least once a day.
After 7 days, make a syrup with water and sugar, let it thicken for a few minutes, and then pour it into the jar with spices and vodka.
Let the spiced orange liqueur rest again.
After the time has passed, strain the liqueur well, and put it in different bottles if you want to make a delightful gift by adding a cinnamon stick to each.
Store it away from light before gifting it or in the pantry if it will be our digestif or the soaking syrup for our fruit cakes.
Enjoy your day with the spiced orange liqueur!
