Always in the theme of QUICK APPETIZERS/SNACKS, here are some more ideas just below:
- Difficulty: Very Easy
- Cost: Economical
- Preparation time: 15 Minutes
- Portions: 4
- Cooking methods: No Cooking
- Cuisine: Italian
- Seasonality: All Seasons
Ingredients
- 1 baguette
- to taste cream cheese (or robiola or goat cheese)
- to taste salami (Milano or Hungarian)
- to taste arugula (or basil or parsley)
- to taste salt
- to taste pepper
Tools
- Knives
- Shot Glasses
- Cutting Boards
- Piping Bags
Two Steps to a Quick Customizable Appetizer
Cut the baguette into chunks of about 1.5-2 inches.
With a shot glass or your fingers, slightly press the center of the bread to create a cavity (without breaking through).
Place the cream cheese (or your personal choice) in a bowl and season with salt, pepper, and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil if desired.
Put the cream in a piping bag and fill the baguette bowls.
Cut the salami slices in half, roll them into roses, and place them on top.
Add a leaf of arugula/basil/parsley, and let’s go to the table!
Bon appétit and happy cooking! Annalisa
Storage
The baguette bowls can be prepared in advance and stored for up to one day:
👉 Not filled: place them in an airtight container at room temperature in a cool, dry place.
👉 Filled: better to consume them immediately to prevent the bread from losing texture and becoming soggy! And if you fill them with mousse or cheese, keep them in the fridge and serve within a few hours!
