What makes them unique? Definitely the size, absolutely Big, their texture that literally melts in your mouth, and the variety of flavors.
Indeed, what distinguishes these Cookies from the classic ones, apart from the texture, is their decoration which makes them not only delicious but also beautiful to look at.
Consider that the Crumbl chain, based in the United States, which first launched them on the market, offers new flavor combinations every week ranging from classic Chocolate Chips, like the ones we’ll prepare today, to creative variants with toppings from simple Smarties, adored by children, to Cookies with peanut butter and pecans, to pink cream cheese with Raspberries.

Those who have tasted them confirm they have never tasted anything better and perhaps for this reason, the Crumbl Cookies fan base has expanded to the point of becoming the subject of videos, not only by customers but also and especially by cooking enthusiasts and food bloggers, and I couldn’t resist!

Ingredients

  • 7 oz butter (softened at room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs (whole)
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (or 1 sachet vanilla sugar)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 10 1/2 oz dark chocolate chips (or milk chocolate)

Tools

  • Bowl
  • Mixer
  • Spatula
  • Baking Sheet

Steps

  • Beat the softened butter with both sugars (granulated and brown) until you get a light and fluffy mixture. Add the whole eggs one at a time and incorporate them.
Combine the sifted flour with the baking powder and cornstarch, then add the vanilla extract and salt, and mix until you obtain a homogeneous dough. Don’t worry if it turns out very sticky, it’s normal.

  • Finally, add the chocolate chips and incorporate them with a spatula. Using an ice cream scoop, form balls and place them well spaced on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Put the cookies in the fridge for about 30 minutes before baking them (or in the freezer for 15 minutes).

  • Bake at 375°F in a static oven for 9 minutes. Take them out of the oven, add some more chocolate chips placed in the freezer beforehand (or chocolate chunks) on top, and bake for another 6 minutes. Be sure they’re well spaced apart because they tend to spread. Take them out of the oven and let them cool before tasting them.

STORAGE

After baking your Crumble Cookies, to maintain their freshness and flavor you can either store them at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days. If you want to store them longer, you can put them in the refrigerator. In this case, they will last up to a week. Crumble Cookies can also be frozen. This way they will last for 2 months. To enjoy them, simply let them thaw at room temperature.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

  • What is the difference between Classic Cookies and Crumble Cookies

At first glance, Crumble Cookies may seem similar to classic American cookies, but what sets them apart and makes them unique are: the SIZE, as they are much larger; the TEXTURE, known for their contrast between a soft interior and a slightly crispy exterior; the VARIETY OF FLAVORS in the decoration that you can use both baked and raw. The decoration is often their distinctive and successful element.
