Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • cups semolina
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp honey (or malt)
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1/2 tbsp dried oregano
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

Tools

  • Mixer
  • Baking Sheet
  • Bowl

Steps

  • First, put the honey in a bowl with 2/3 of the recipe’s water dose and dissolve the salt in the remaining third. Add the oil to the bowl with water and salt and mix well.

In the mixer (use the paddle attachment), put the sifted flour with the yeast and the water with the honey, start the mixer and pour the oil in a thin stream. Knead until the mixture pulls away from the sides.

Transfer the dough to a lightly floured work surface and work it to make it even smoother and more elastic. Form a ball then let it rest in a bowl covered with plastic wrap until it doubles, it will take from 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on the room temperature.

  • In the meantime, prepare the pizza flavor aroma. Put the tomato paste in a bowl, a tablespoon of oil, oregano, and a pinch of salt, mix well, and set aside.

Bring the dough back to the work surface and roll out a rectangular sheet (approximately 12×14 inches) then transfer it to a lightly greased baking sheet. Brush the entire surface with olive oil then sprinkle with semolina flour. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise again for at least 1 hour.

  • Brush the dough evenly with the pizza flavor cream trying to cover it entirely. Using a pastry cutter, cut strips about 0.4 inches wide and 6-8 inches long. Slightly stretch each strip and then roll it by twisting the two ends in opposite directions to twist the dough over itself to create spirals. Place the breadsticks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper as they are ready.

  • Brush the pizza flavor breadsticks with olive oil and bake in a preheated static oven at 356°F for 20 minutes until they are golden brown. Once ready, take them out of the oven and let them cool completely. Here are the Homemade PIZZA flavor BREADSTICKS ready.
