Ingredients

  • 10 slices bresaola (not too thin)
  • 120 g tuna in oil (drained)
  • 120 g spreadable cheese (Philadelphia or robiola)
  • as needed capers

Tools

  • Bowl
  • Fork

Steps

  • Place the spreadable cheese in a bowl (it must be cold from the fridge) and soften it by mixing it with a spoon. Drain the tuna, put it on a plate, and shred it with a fork. Add the tuna to the bowl with the creamy cheese and mix well to obtain a cream. Optionally add some finely chopped capers.

  • Spread the bresaola slices on a cutting board, if they are very small, use two slightly overlapping, spread a generous amount of tuna cream on each slice, and finally roll the bresaola to form rolls. Place them in the fridge to rest for about 30 minutes before enjoying.

NOTES

If you want perfect rolls, drain the tuna very well before adding it to the spreadable cheese to prevent the tuna cream from becoming too liquid and risking to leak from the rolls.

For the same reason, let them rest in the fridge for at least 20 minutes before serving so that the filling slightly firms up.

BRESAOLA: With the same procedure, you can stuff slices of cooked ham or prosciutto. Whatever cold cut you choose to use, you will get excellent and tasty rolls with tuna sauce. The only recommendation is to use slices that are not too thin to avoid breaking and allowing the filling to spill out.

CAPERS: You can add them finely chopped to the cheese and tuna cream or alternatively use chopped olives (green or black). Even chopped arugula pairs well with this filling.
