PORRIDGE OVERNIGHT OATS with COFFEE FOAM – YOGURT AND OAT FLAKES with COFFEE FOAM
We’ve learned by now, breakfast is the most important meal of the day because it gives us the right boost and the necessary energy to tackle various tasks.
Today I present this recipe for a Breakfast of Oat Flakes, Milk and Greek Yogurt, a kind of Porridge that is prepared in no time, rich in energy and flavor, the COFFEE FLAVOR PORRIDGE OVERNIGHT OATS with Foam.
A nice cup of this Anglo-Saxon origin dessert and we’ll be ready to face the day’s challenges, whether at work, school, at home for household chores, or, for those who can afford it, to be tourists in villages and cities.
For those who don’t know, Overnight Porridge is a variant of the classic Anglo-Saxon recipe that requires no cooking, perfect for those short on time or who don’t feel like cooking. It’s prepared in advance, usually the night before, left in the refrigerator overnight, and ready to be enjoyed with your preferred topping upon waking up.
An extremely easy recipe: the oat flakes are mixed with milk or water, Greek yogurt, flavored as desired with vanilla, and sweetened with honey. Once mixed, the mixture doesn’t need to be cooked; it simply needs to be placed in the fridge to rest for at least 4 hours, better if overnight.
You can also watch the video in the recipe to follow each step, although I assure you it’s really easy and I’m sure you won’t need it.
Once ready, you just need to choose whether to layer it or not with yogurt of your favorite taste, spreadable creams, and garnish it with your preferred Topping because there are endless possibilities, all delicious.
In today’s recipe for OVERNIGHT OATS with COFFEE, I created a first layer with Porridge, a second made of Greek yogurt with Coffee and finished with a Coffee Foam prepared with instant coffee and water, and finally sprinkled it all with bitter cocoa.
You’ll see how this simple breakfast will keep you satisfied, without weighing you down too much, for a long time, and you’ll reach lunch without that annoying feeling of hunger.
And if during the day you feel peckish or even in the evening after dinner you want to indulge in a sweet, this cup of Coffee Foam Porridge OVERNIGHT OATS will be perfect.
So what are you waiting for? Let’s start preparing it together!

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup oat flakes
- 1/2 cup water (or plant-based milk or cow's milk)
- 1 tsp honey (or maple syrup)
- 4.2 oz 0% fat Greek yogurt
- 3.5 oz coffee Greek yogurt
- 0.7 oz instant coffee
- 1/2 cup water (cold)
- 2.8 oz sugar (optional)
Tools
- Bowl
- 2 Serving Cups
- Immersion Blender
Steps
In a bowl, mix together oat flakes, honey, yogurt, and almond milk (or cow’s milk or other plant-based milk) until combined. Transfer the mixture into a single-serving cup and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
After resting and before consuming, finish the preparation. You can directly purchase Coffee Greek Yogurt and pour it over the oatmeal layer, or make a small cup of espresso coffee (leftover coffee from the morning is also fine) and add it to the yogurt. You can decide whether to sweeten it or not (I didn’t add anything), then mix until combined.
You can enjoy your no-cook Coffee Porridge just like this, simply sprinkling it with bitter cocoa, or if you want to make it super delicious, prepare the Coffee Foam. To do this, simply dissolve the instant coffee in cold refrigerated water (add sugar or not) and then whip it with an immersion blender. Once the Foam is ready, pour it over the Coffee Yogurt layer and finish by sprinkling with bitter cocoa.
NOTES
WATER For an even creamier porridge, you can replace the water with an equal amount of cow’s milk or plant-based milk (soy, almond, oat, rice).
HONEY You can replace honey with maple syrup or a sweetener for a light version.
VANILLA It’s incredible how a pinch of this essence can enhance the flavor of your Porridge, but if you don’t like this spice, you can omit it.
OVERNIGHT REST: Let the oats rest in the refrigerator for at least 2-3 hours, preferably overnight. This allows the flavors to meld and the oats to soften to the perfect consistency.
COFFEE: You can use either coffee made with a moka pot or with coffee machines. Decaffeinated coffee is also fine, and alternatively, if you want to serve it to the whole family and there are children, replace it with soluble barley.
STORAGE
The COFFEE OVERNIGHT OATS with Coffee Foam can be prepared the night before for the next day, and it will be even better. Once ready, it can be stored in the fridge in a sealed container for up to 2 days.
FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
How can I achieve the right consistency for Oat Flakes?
To achieve the perfect consistency for oats, it’s all about the oat-to-liquid ratio. Generally, a 1:2 ratio works well. If the oats are too thick, add a bit more liquid; if they are too liquid, slightly reduce the amount of milk/water next time.
How can I balance the sweetness when adding fruit and toppings to Oat Flakes?
Overnight Oats may be too sweet with some combinations (e.g., with hazelnut or pistachio cream). Keep this in mind when deciding how to layer it, and possibly taste a spoonful before adding extra sweeteners like honey or maple syrup.
Can I heat my Overnight Oats or should it be eaten cold?
Overnight Oats is traditionally consumed cold or at room temperature, but if you prefer it warm, you can heat it for a few seconds in the microwave.
