Baked Lemon Prawns

The tasty and light baked lemon prawns are tender and succulent.

Prawns [from large prawns to shrimp]
It is easier for me to use prawns rather than shrimp, simply for convenience: peeling and cleaning a few prawns per person is undoubtedly easier than peeling and cleaning entire portions of shrimp.

Prawns in the diet
Briefly, it is important to remember that they are crustaceans with low triglyceride content but high in cholesterol and contain a small portion of available carbohydrates, which is why they are not suitable and included in all diets.
This applies to all species of prawns [from large prawns to shrimp].
In my husband’s diet plan, prawns are present and classified as foods to be consumed occasionally.

For my lemon prawns, I used lemon juice and lemon thyme leaves [alternatively grated lemon zest].

To be served as finger food, appetizer, or as a second course.

  • Gently separate the heads from the bodies.
    Do not discard the heads, you can use them as a base for a broth with prawn heads or prawn sauce.

    CLEANING THE PRAWNS
    Shell the prawns.
    First of all, you need to remove the black thread, that is, the intestine whose content is not toxic but can spoil our dishes:
    • with a sharp knife make an incision on the back of the bodies;
    • extract the black thread or intestine with the help of a toothpick.
