The baked tuna with cherry tomatoes is a light fish main course that requires easy and quick cooking.
It’s an excellent alternative to grilled tuna, especially if the tuna is frozen and/or not yet completely thawed and if you have issues with fish odor in the house.
Tuna is a low-calorie fish and rich in omega 3 fatty acids.
I buy it fresh, defrosted, or from the freezer section, according to availability.

Ingredients
- 2 tuna steaks
- as needed cherry tomatoes
- 1 pinch coarse salt
- 1 pinch mixed peppercorns (with grinder)
- as needed oregano (or parsley)
- 1 drizzle extra virgin olive oil (raw)

- 1 Baking Sheet 10×11.5 inches
Preparation
You can use either fresh or frozen tuna [thawed or still frozen].
For this recipe, the release of water during cooking is not an issue.
Wash the tuna steaks under running water, let them drain in a colander, and pat the remaining water with paper towels.
Wash the tomatoes thoroughly.
You can add them whole, scored, or cut.
Cut and remove the stem part if deemed necessary.
Cut each berry vertically in half.Line a baking sheet with baking paper and place the tuna steaks and cherry tomatoes on top.
Preheat the oven briefly.
Bake at 320°F in a convection oven for 10-15 minutes depending on thickness and desired doneness: you can also leave the inside layer undercooked to prepare a seared-like tuna.Plate.
Season with coarse salt and pepper, oregano or parsley, and a drizzle of raw oil.Your baked tuna with cherry tomatoes is ready.
