The smoked paprika chicken, crispy and golden on the outside and soft and succulent on the inside, is a tasty version of the more common baked chicken.
I bought yellow chicken thighs and drumsticks and asked the butcher to separate them [so as to have divided thighs and drumsticks] and to remove the skin [chicken skin is very fatty, so it is advisable to remove it before cooking].
I marinated them with white wine [alternatively lemon juice] and seasoned with a mix of herbs and smoked paprika.
The smoked paprika, with its slightly spicy taste and fruity aroma, adds a smoky aroma to the dish reminiscent of barbecue sauce.

Ingredients
- 2 chicken thighs (drumstick + thigh)
- as needed white wine (or lemon juice)
- as needed roast herb and spice mix
- smoked paprika
- mixed peppercorns (with grinder)
- parsley (chopped)

Preparation
Buy yellow chicken thighs and drumsticks and ask the butcher to separate them [so as to have divided thighs and drumsticks] and to remove the skin [chicken skin is very fatty, so it is advisable to remove it before cooking].
Place the chicken in a baking dish for marinating.
Drizzle the chicken pieces with white wine [or alternatively with lemon juice].Season the chicken with:
• a mix of roast herbs and spices;
• smoked paprika;
• mixed pepper;
and massage to distribute the seasoning evenly.Seal the baking dish with plastic wrap or place it inside a freezer bag and refrigerate for at least an hour.
Take the chicken out of the fridge and proceed with cooking.
Follow the instructions [temperature and times] indicated in your appliance’s user manual.
Procedure with my Ariete – Friggi Sano Air Fryer [Eurospin]:
• set the temperature to 392°F;
• preheat for 5 minutes;
• remove the basket;
• place the chicken pieces on the grill accessory without overlapping them;
• cook for 25 minutes;
• remove the basket;
check that the chicken is internally cooked by testing a piece by spreading the meat with cutlery without breaking it;
• turn the chicken pieces;
• continue cooking for 5 minutes until crispy and golden.Plate it.
Add the parsley.Your smoked paprika chicken in the air fryer is ready.
Enjoy your meal!
Line a baking sheet with a sheet of parchment paper and place the chicken pieces on top.
Drizzle with the marinade.Briefly preheat the oven.
Medium-small size thighs and drumsticks
Bake at 356°F for 40 minutes and continue at 320°F for 20 minutes, in a fan oven.Larger size thighs and drumsticks
Bake at 392°F for 40 minutes and continue at 356°F for 20 minutes, in a fan oven.
