The sugar-free yogurt and strawberry popsicle is a homemade yogurt and fruit ice cream made without an ice cream maker, easy and quick to prepare.
Nutritious and refreshing, to be enjoyed as a snack or at snack time as an alternative to packaged ice cream rich in sugars and fats.
Basic ingredients:
• low-fat plain yogurt or Greek yogurt
Read the label carefully and choose a low-fat plain or Greek yogurt that contains only the natural sugars from milk;
I usually use one of the following choices:
– FAGE Total 0% fat with no added sugars;
– KALOS Greek Yogurt 0% with slightly higher sugar content than the previous one [available at MD].
• strawberries or other ripe seasonal fruit.
The combination of fruit with low-fat plain or Greek yogurt slows down the quick absorption of fruit sugars.
If you feel the need, you can add a low-calorie or zero-calorie sweetener [personally, I prepare them without and find them excellent].
I used a mold for 6 popsicles.
! If you don’t have popsicle molds, you can use plastic cups or small cups, the yogurt container itself, ice cube trays, or even aluminum containers.
I bought the wooden popsicle sticks at Tiger.
