Appetizing Braised Radicchio

in

Appetizing braised radicchio is one of those side dishes I discovered not long ago.

Since I made this recipe, I’ve been hooked, thanks to its taste and numerous health benefits.

Do you love radicchio? I prepare it with pasta, with rice, and now also as a cooked side dish. Shall we prepare this little recipe?

I suggest you also take a look at these other preparations of mine:

Let’s see the ingredients we need to make the appetizing braised radicchio

  • radicchio (1.3 lbs)

  • 2 grams fine salt
  • to taste Taggiasca olives (or green)
  • 8 grams pine nuts

Steps

  • This recipe is very simple to make, and I love it because, besides being a side dish, I can also use it as a pasta sauce.

The process is practically the same, I decide whether to use it as a side dish or as a main dish.

First, take the radicchio and wash it thoroughly. Then cut the leaves into pieces and transfer them to your saucepan.

Add water, extra virgin olive oil, salt, garlic, and Taggiasca or green olives, all together without sautéing first. The vegetable will cook in its own released water. I usually let it go for about 15/20 minutes and it’s done.

What makes the dish appetizing in its simplicity are the olives and garlic. I love it.

After 15 minutes, taste and check the seasoning and whether the vegetables are cooked to your liking. If necessary, cook a little more or less.

You can use the preparation however you like, with meat, bread croutons, or as I said, with pasta.

    Enjoy your meal

Tips for Storing Appetizing Braised Radicchio

If you don’t use all the appetizing braised radicchio, you can store it in the fridge for up to two days.

When ready to eat it again, just reheat it in a pan and it will be as good as freshly made.

Know that it is precisely that bitterness that gives us health benefits.
Bitter foods are not only good for you, but they also represent an elixir of longevity because they are rich in antioxidants and have anti-inflammatory and detoxifying effects.
Bitter foods have positive effects on health, and the idea that bitterness is an unpleasant flavor is a myth, only valid in cases of hypersensitivity to bitterness.

Hello, I'm Simona, and my page is called BriCciola in cucina, because I dedicated it to my mom and dad, who have called me that since I was little. I'm not a chef, and in my life, I've always dealt with completely different things, but cooking, along with dancing, has always been one of my great passions. However, my greatest inspiration came from the dishes prepared first by my grandmother and now by my mom. Here on my cooking blog, I'll guide you from appetizers to desserts, with recipes designed for a healthy and mindful lifestyle. Balanced dishes, carefully chosen ingredients, and lots of flavors, because eating well never means giving up pleasure. I love eating, but I also like taking care of my health, my family's health, and, in a way, the health of everyone who tries my recipes. That's why daily life should be rich in flavor, but always with a focus on healthy eating. Thank you, I look forward to seeing you.
