Baked Pasta with Tomino Cheese and Walnuts

Baked Pasta with Tomino Cheese and Walnuts is a truly explosive dish. A delicious and scenic main course. Its creaminess will win everyone over.

The recipe came about somewhat by chance and because I had some leftover walnut sauce.

So I thought, why not prepare a complete dish instead of the classic Ligurian pansoti, even if it’s more substantial?

After all, Sunday is also for indulging in richer and more delicious dishes than usual, so I got to work on the baked pasta with tomino cheese and walnuts, which you absolutely must try.

  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Cost: Inexpensive
  • Preparation time: 20 Minutes
  • Portions: 3
  • Cooking methods: Oven
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Seasonality: All seasons

Ingredients

Let’s see the ingredients we need to prepare it.

  • pasta (9 oz, I chose a short but large format)
  • béchamel (4 cups, I'll put the link to my recipe below, or make the one you're used to preparing)
  • walnut sauce (4 oz, you can buy it ready-made or try to replicate mine)
  • grated parmesan (2 oz)
  • 1 tomino cheese

Tools

You’ll need a baking dish, various pots, and a pasta spatula.

Steps

Let’s see step by step how to prepare our dish.

  • First, I prepared the béchamel sauce. This time I didn’t cook it in the microwave but on the stovetop. I’ll leave the link here for you to click to see the ingredients used and the procedure. Click here➡️Béchamel with oil

Once ready, I set it aside for a moment.

  • At this point, I cooked the pasta

  • Once ready, I poured it into a baking dish and started adding the béchamel.

Next, I added the walnut sauce. You can buy this sauce ready-made at the supermarket, or if you like, try making my super easy sauce.

  • At this point, once the pasta is well mixed with the two sauces (walnut and béchamel), I covered it with a nice sprinkle of parmesan.

It’s time to add the tomino cheese, sliced and placed over the entire surface of the pasta, as you can see in the photos below.

  • Here we are, we just need to bake our pasta in a preheated oven at 350°F, fan mode for about 20/30 minutes.

When a golden crust has formed, we’ll be ready to take it out. Oh my, what a treat. If you try it, let me know. In conclusion, all that’s left is to wish you bon appétit.

Hello, I'm Simona, and my page is called BriCciola in cucina, because I dedicated it to my mom and dad, who have called me that since I was little. I'm not a chef, and in my life, I've always dealt with completely different things, but cooking, along with dancing, has always been one of my great passions. However, my greatest inspiration came from the dishes prepared first by my grandmother and now by my mom. Here on my cooking blog, I'll guide you from appetizers to desserts, with recipes designed for a healthy and mindful lifestyle. Balanced dishes, carefully chosen ingredients, and lots of flavors, because eating well never means giving up pleasure. I love eating, but I also like taking care of my health, my family's health, and, in a way, the health of everyone who tries my recipes. That's why daily life should be rich in flavor, but always with a focus on healthy eating. Thank you, I look forward to seeing you.
