Cauliflower alla pizzaiola is a tasty, intriguing side dish that is also rich in beneficial properties for our health.

Sometimes recipes that are too “healthy and wholesome” are immediately perceived as dull and bland.

Know that this is not the case. With a little more attention to what we’re bringing to the table, even the simplest dish can become a delicacy.

Speaking of pizza-style foods and sauces, check out these other intriguing recipes below⬇️

  • Cost: Economical
  • Preparation time: 15 Minutes
  • Portions: 4
  • Cooking methods: Stovetop
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Seasonality: All Seasons

Ingredients

Let’s see the simple ingredients to make cauliflower alla pizzaiola

  • cauliflower (1 lb 12 oz)
  • tomatoes (9 oz or diced tomato pulp)
  • Few leaves basil (or oregano)
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • as needed extra virgin olive oil
  • grated parmesan (2 tablespoons)
  • 2 tablespoons breadcrumbs

Tools

You will need a pan to cook our preparation, a baking dish, a fork, and a spoon to turn the cauliflower and mix.

Steps

Let’s see the steps to make this simple dish

  • Take the cauliflower, wash it well under running water and cut it into florets to facilitate cleaning.

Once cleaned and sliced, set it aside.

  • In a pan sauté the garlic with olive oil, as soon as it starts sizzling, add the cherry tomatoes or finely diced pulp. Season with salt and let it cook for 6 or 7 minutes.

Now add basil or oregano, whichever you prefer, and let it flavor. I always add a pinch of sugar to sauces.

Now take the cauliflower florets and blend them with the sauce.

  • Turn them until well combined and add half a cup of water. Cover and let it cook.

It will take about twenty minutes for them to be ready. When the cauliflower is tender and the water has completely evaporated, turn everything off.

  • At this point, make our cauliflower more delicious by sprinkling the surface with grated cheese, breadcrumbs, and a drizzle of olive oil.

I can put my pan from the stovetop to the oven because the handle can be detached. You can transfer the cooked cauliflower to a baking dish, add cheese, breadcrumbs, and oil on top, and then bake.

Turn on the grill function and let it brown until a tasty crust forms. Keep an eye on it; it will take about 10 minutes or even less.

The cauliflower is ready to be enjoyed.

Tips, Variations

As I mentioned earlier, when preparing the sauce you can add the spice that most reminds you of a pizza preparation, either basil or oregano. I have tried both, and the goodness is just a matter of taste.

If you add mozzarella or stracchino along with grated parmesan, it will feel like eating a pizza.

Hello, I'm Simona, and my page is called BriCciola in cucina, because I dedicated it to my mom and dad, who have called me that since I was little. I'm not a chef, and in my life, I've always dealt with completely different things, but cooking, along with dancing, has always been one of my great passions. However, my greatest inspiration came from the dishes prepared first by my grandmother and now by my mom. Here on my cooking blog, I'll guide you from appetizers to desserts, with recipes designed for a healthy and mindful lifestyle. Balanced dishes, carefully chosen ingredients, and lots of flavors, because eating well never means giving up pleasure. I love eating, but I also like taking care of my health, my family's health, and, in a way, the health of everyone who tries my recipes. That's why daily life should be rich in flavor, but always with a focus on healthy eating. Thank you, I look forward to seeing you.
