The tall cookies with anise essence are suitable for your breakfasts, snacks, afternoon teas, and after-dinner treats. Yes, because the shortcrust is so genuine and low-fat that such a cookie won’t harm us, even after dinner. If you eat well, consciously, you can eat a bit of everything without problems. Be careful because the shortcrust is simple, but there’s a super fragrant ingredient that makes them special. What essence is it? Well, let’s wash our hands, grab a nice bowl for mixing, and join me, I’ll tell you about them and we’ll prepare them together.
- Difficulty: Easy
- Cost: Economical
- Preparation time: 20 Minutes
- Cooking methods: Oven
- Cuisine: Italian
Ingredients
Let’s see what we need to prepare them
- 1 eggs (1 whole egg and one yolk)
- brown sugar (3 oz you can also use the white type you prefer)
- corn oil (7 oz use the seed oil you prefer)
- all-purpose flour (2 1/2 cups)
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 3 tablespoons anise seeds (I used the anise liqueur but seeds work well too)
- to taste plum jam (as much as needed for filling)
- to taste hazelnut cream
Steps
Let’s see how to prepare them.
The first step is to mix the eggs with the sugar, they should be nice and frothy.
At this point, add the oil, the anise liqueur (I used 3 tablespoons, I love this aroma, you can use 2 if you prefer. If you use seeds, let them soften a bit in water, which you will then discard) and gradually the sifted flour. Finally, the teaspoon of vanilla baking powder.
Once we have created our dough, we start preparing the cookies. We will make small balls and use a finger to create a hole in the center for the filling. I made half with jam and half with hazelnut cream. Once filled, place them on parchment paper and bake in a fan oven at 340°F for about 20 minutes. After 13/14 minutes, I always start checking, everyone knows their own oven.
