Ingredients
Let’s see the ingredients we need to prepare this recipe.
- 7 oz dry fava beans (peeled)
- 1.7 cups water
- 1 tsp fine salt
- to taste tomato puree
- 1.5 cups mozzarella
- 2 oz gorgonzola
- A few leaves basil
- to taste extra virgin olive oil
- 3 oz ground turkey
Tools
An immersion blender, a bowl for soaking, a spatula
Steps
First, take the dry fava beans and after washing and rinsing them thoroughly multiple times, soak them in a bowl with water and a teaspoon of salt. Stir and let them rest.
After the 4 hours all you need to do is blend the beans with the soaking water, until you create a soft and uniform mixture. As shown in the photo below.
Now take your pan, preferably non-stick, brush the bottom with oil, and with a spatula or spoon begin to spread the mixture in the pan. Try to spread it evenly to keep it at a more or less uniform height.
Now turn on the oven and bring it to temperature, 350°F, fan-forced. Once ready, bake the pizza and cook it for about 15 minutes. After this time, remove and top the pizza as you like.
I used a tomato puree, previously cooked with ground turkey, basil leaves, carrots, garlic, celery, olive oil, and salt. As for cheese, I added mozzarella and gorgonzola.
Of course, top with the cheeses and condiments you love the most. Now bake again for 5 minutes and then…Enjoy this super tasty fava bean pizza, with many beneficial properties and super light.
Bon appétit
Storage and Tips
This super appetizing and tasty preparation can be made to convince even the little ones and not just them to enjoy legumes in a different way compared to soup or minestrone.
Minestrones and soups are often not well-liked and therefore, legumes are consumed less, yet they are too important and useful for our body not to be included in our diet.
