Ingredients
Let’s see what we need to prepare the lemon sea bream cooked in a pan.
- gilthead sea bream (about 1 1/3 lb (≈21 oz))
- lemon (1 organic, peel edible)
- 3 sprigs rosemary
- 2 cloves garlic
- to taste extra virgin olive oil
- to taste fine salt
- to taste pepper
Tools
You won’t need any special tools. Just a pan to cook the fish
Steps
Let’s go through the steps to prepare it
First of all clean the sea bream or have it cleaned by the fishmonger. At this point we start seasoning it.
Slice the lemon and the garlic and place them inside the cavity. Add the rosemary as well. Season with salt and pepper.
Now take a pan and put in one clove of garlic, a sprig of rosemary and some extra virgin olive oil.
Turn on the stove and set to low heat. The oil should not fry but only be infused with the aroma of the ingredients inside.
After a few minutes add the sea bream, on which we will place a few more lemon slices.
Now raise the heat a little and deglaze with white wine, add also about half a cup (≈4 fl oz) of water and let cook for about twenty minutes with a lid on. Depending on the size of the fish you may need a few minutes more or less. Plate your fish, drizzling the portions with the pan juices. Enjoy your meal

Sea bream plays an important role in regulating heart rhythm and blood pressure, helps reduce the amount of triglycerides in the blood and counteracts the development of plaques or atherosclerotic lesions.
