Homemade Cake with a Thousand Scents

The homemade cake with a thousand scents is a very simple cake that tastes like home.

The thousand scents come from a combination of citrus peels and essences, making it the homemade cake everyone can prepare.

My sweets are always low in sugar, because I believe a cake, a cookie, or a dessert should be good for the flavors they release, not for the sugar. These are what should remain on the palate and in the mind of those who eat them. Of course, this is my opinion and my lifestyle, to each their own.

Here are some other recipes for your breakfast inspiration:

  • Difficulty: Very easy
  • Cost: Cheap
  • Preparation time: 15 Minutes
  • Portions: 8/10
  • Cooking methods: Oven
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Seasonality: All seasons

Ingredients

Let’s see the ingredients we need to prepare the recipe

  • 2 eggs
  • sugar (1/4 cup)
  • seed oil (1/3 cup)
  • water (3/4 cup)
  • 1 pinch fine salt
  • orange flavor (1 full vial)
  • Half orange (juiced + grated peel)
  • lemon (grated peel)
  • flour 0 (2 1/2 cups)
  • potato starch (1/3 cup)
  • 1 packet baking powder
  • to taste colored sprinkles
  • to taste hazelnuts
  • to taste chocolate chips

Tools

You will need an electric mixer with beaters.

Steps

  • First, take a container and pour in the eggs (which you have allowed to reach room temperature) along with the sugar. Beat them until they are nice and light and frothy.

Now add a pinch of salt, the oil, water, the vial of orange essence, the citrus peels, and the orange juice. Mix well. Now we proceed to incorporate the sifted flour and potato starch. Finally, the packet of vanilla-flavored baking powder.

Continue mixing the batter until it is smooth and foamy.

  • Now let’s take the baking pan, butter and flour it. I used a mold with a diameter of 9 inches. Pour in the batter and go ahead to decorate with cheerful colors. I used sprinkles, chocolate chips, and hazelnuts. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F, static mode for about 40/45 minutes.

Always do the toothpick test before turning off the oven. The cake should come out dry, and the toothpick should not stick. Adjust according to your oven.

Remove from the oven, let it cool, and enjoy this simple yet wonderfully fragrant cake that tastes like home.

    Bon appétit

Storage

The homemade cake with a thousand scents can be stored for 3/4 days under a glass dome. In my opinion, it will be finished even sooner😉

Enjoy your snacks, breakfasts, and breaks

Hello, I'm Simona, and my page is called BriCciola in cucina, because I dedicated it to my mom and dad, who have called me that since I was little. I'm not a chef, and in my life, I've always dealt with completely different things, but cooking, along with dancing, has always been one of my great passions. However, my greatest inspiration came from the dishes prepared first by my grandmother and now by my mom. Here on my cooking blog, I'll guide you from appetizers to desserts, with recipes designed for a healthy and mindful lifestyle. Balanced dishes, carefully chosen ingredients, and lots of flavors, because eating well never means giving up pleasure. I love eating, but I also like taking care of my health, my family's health, and, in a way, the health of everyone who tries my recipes. That's why daily life should be rich in flavor, but always with a focus on healthy eating. Thank you, I look forward to seeing you.
