I often prepare orange chicken slices in the autumn, when these wonderful citrus fruits start arriving on our tables.
A simple dish where I like to highlight that I achieve it without browning oil and without adding fats.
Just a few steps and you’ll make some tasty, tender chicken slices with a cream everyone will love.

Ingredients
- 0.88 lbs chicken breast (in slices)
- 0.85 cups oranges (about 2/3 oranges)
- 0.25 cups flour (I use type 2)
- to taste extra virgin olive oil
- to taste salt
Tools
- 1 Pan
- 1 Fork
- 1 Citrus Juicer
Steps
Take the chicken breast slices, I always buy free-range if I can find it.
Coat them on both sides with flour.
Place the chicken breast in a preheated non-stick or stone pan, and allow it to brown without adding oil.
In the meantime, prepare the juice from 2/3 oranges and as soon as the slices are colored, increase the heat slightly and pour over.
Salt and add a bit of water for cooking the meat.
Let it cook on medium-low heat for about 20/30 minutes, occasionally turning the slices.
If you see the liquids reducing too much and the meat is not yet cooked, add a bit more water or orange juice.
Once ready, serve and add a nice drizzle of EVO oil now.
Add the orange cream left in the pan over the meat and enjoy your tasty dish without fats but with a lot of flavors.
Storing Orange Chicken Slices
Orange chicken slices are best served immediately with their citrus cream.
If there are leftovers, store them in a covered container in the fridge for up to two days.
When needed, reheat and enjoy again.
