Ingredients

  • 2.1 oz whole oats (if you prefer, non-whole oats are also fine)
  • 7 tbsp semi-skimmed milk (or plant-based drinks if you prefer)
  • 2 tbsp 0% fat Greek yogurt (or non-Greek yogurt)
  • 1 tsp wildflower honey (or any honey you like best)
  • 4 walnuts
  • 4 tsp puffed spelt
  • 1 tsp puffed millet
  • 1 Decana pears (or other types of pears)

Tools

  • 1 Mixing Bowl
  • 1 Teaspoon
  • 1 Tablespoon
  • 2 Small Bowls

Steps

  • Preparing the porridge will be really very simple.

I used a mixing bowl to combine all the ingredients together, then I preferred to portion them already into two small cups, to have it ready to use.

In my bowl I started pouring the cereals.

The oatmeal, puffed spelt, millet, and walnuts shelled into pieces.

I added the yogurt, milk, (which can also be a plant-based drink) and honey.

If you prefer a sweeter preparation you can also add 2/3 teaspoons of honey.

Mix all the ingredients well, which will present with the consistency you see in the photo below.

You will get a soft mixture, which the next day, after resting will take on a creamier and less liquid consistency.

  • We add the diced pear and mix it with the rest.

I choose Decana pears because by adding little sugar, this type of fruit will help sweeten my porridge naturally.

We take two small bowls and portion the porridge, adding on the surface a few more flakes of puffed spelt and a drizzle of honey.

Cover the bowls and put them in the fridge.

The next morning, our bowl of pear porridge will be ready to be enjoyed for breakfast or a snack.

You will see what a great start full of goodness, lightness and beneficial properties.

Tips for Storing Pear Porridge

As I wrote during the recipe description, the porridge should be kept in the fridge.

If you keep it cool, you can consume it within two or three days.

Hello, I'm Simona, and my page is called BriCciola in cucina, because I dedicated it to my mom and dad, who have called me that since I was little. I'm not a chef, and in my life, I've always dealt with completely different things, but cooking, along with dancing, has always been one of my great passions. However, my greatest inspiration came from the dishes prepared first by my grandmother and now by my mom. Here on my cooking blog, I'll guide you from appetizers to desserts, with recipes designed for a healthy and mindful lifestyle. Balanced dishes, carefully chosen ingredients, and lots of flavors, because eating well never means giving up pleasure. I love eating, but I also like taking care of my health, my family's health, and, in a way, the health of everyone who tries my recipes. That's why daily life should be rich in flavor, but always with a focus on healthy eating. Thank you, I look forward to seeing you.
