Pie with Spelt Flour

The pie with spelt flour is made with a mixed shortcrust pastry and not just butter.

I used two wonderful ingredients partly butter and a percentage of extra virgin olive oil.

You have to try it, it’s good, easy, and crumbly.

Ingredients

Let’s see what we need to make the pie with spelt flour:

  • 2 1/4 cups spelt flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • 1 lemon zest (Grated)
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • to taste apricot jam (I used peach and apricot)

  • 1 Pie pan
  • 1 Bowl
  • 1 Teaspoon
  • 1 Spatula

Steps

  • In a bowl I mixed together the softened butter cut into pieces, the oil, the sugar, the egg, and the grated lemon zest.

    I then incorporated the sifted flour and baking powder.

    Once the dough was obtained, I let it rest 10/15 minutes in the fridge.

  • I rolled out the shortcrust in the pan and used the prongs of a fork to prick the edge.

    This time I mixed together jam of apricots and peaches, we liked them so much mixed together.

    Use the jam you like best.

    You will see how good it is with this spelt flour and with the butter/extra virgin olive oil mix.

    Decorate with strips of dough or as you prefer.

    Preheat the oven to 340 degrees Fahrenheit.

    Once it reaches temperature, bake for about 25 minutes.

    And now enjoy this super genuine and delicious cake.
