Ingredients

Let’s see the ingredients needed to make the recipe

  • Type 1 flour (2 1/2 cups)
  • 1 egg (large)
  • sugar (1/3 cup)
  • seed oil (1/3 cup)
  • 1 tablespoon liqueur (walnut or rum)
  • 3 teaspoons hazelnut cream
  • orange zest (or a few drops of essence)
  • baking powder (1 teaspoon)
  • milk (3 tablespoons)
  • 1 pinch fine salt

Tools

A bowl for mixing or a pastry board, a fork for blending

Steps

  • In a bowl, pour the room temperature egg and sugar. Start blending with a fork and then add the oil and the pinch of salt.

In a small bowl, dissolve the 3 teaspoons of hazelnut cream in warm milk (the classic spreadable type, which you buy at the supermarket) or mine, check out the recipe I leave for you here ➡️HAZELNUT CREAM, add them to the bowl with the other ingredients.

Add the tablespoon of walnut liqueur or whatever you have available such as rum and the grated orange zest. At this point, start incorporating the flour and the 1 teaspoon of baking powder. Knead by hand until you form a smooth and well-combined dough.

  • Take a baking sheet on which you have placed parchment paper. We will place our pinwheel cookies there as we shape them.

From the dough, break off 20-gram pieces each, stretch to create small rolls of dough that you will roll up on themselves, as shown in the photo below.

  • When the cookies are ready, we will bake them, in a preheated fan oven at 350 degrees for about 13 minutes.

Always check the baking based on your oven. Enjoy their aroma and savor your snacks and breakfasts.

Storage of Pinwheel Cookies with Oil

The cookies can be stored in a cookie jar for three to four days.

With these quantities, you will get about 30 cookies.

Hello, I'm Simona, and my page is called BriCciola in cucina, because I dedicated it to my mom and dad, who have called me that since I was little. I'm not a chef, and in my life, I've always dealt with completely different things, but cooking, along with dancing, has always been one of my great passions. However, my greatest inspiration came from the dishes prepared first by my grandmother and now by my mom. Here on my cooking blog, I'll guide you from appetizers to desserts, with recipes designed for a healthy and mindful lifestyle. Balanced dishes, carefully chosen ingredients, and lots of flavors, because eating well never means giving up pleasure. I love eating, but I also like taking care of my health, my family's health, and, in a way, the health of everyone who tries my recipes. That's why daily life should be rich in flavor, but always with a focus on healthy eating. Thank you, I look forward to seeing you.
